Nell Foxworth | Karen Whitman
Nell and Karen share many professional
characteristics. They have strong work ethics and are incredibly
dependable. They are honest and forthright and both have a clear mission
in their work with people and horses. Their friendship, both
professional and personal, allows them to work toward similar goals with
all interested riders and to be supportive of each other for the benefit
of all. Each human client feels respected and honored, while the horses
feel safe and secure. Additionally, both trainers have exceptional eyes
for movement and conformation in evaluating horses for potential purchase.
Nell and Karen are confident with their skills, and, at the same time, recognize that no individual can know everything. They share ideas with other trainers and don't let ego get in the way of doing what is best for their horse or client. They regularly coordinate clinics at Singletree and encourage their students to ride in the clinics as well as learn from watching others ride.

When Nell and Karen's students were asked for testimonials, enough was
said about them as a team that it seemed appropriate to include it in
addition to their individual kudos.
When deciding where to keep your horse and who will look after him when
you can't be there, it's important to know the "mood" of the barn.

The absolute best quality of
the trainers at Singletree Farm is that Karen and Nell
are great friends first and trainers second. They compliment each other
in riding and in barn life, going to shows and clinics, assisting one
another in reaching their own goals. They even have been seen vacationing
together. Exceptional care is taken of all the horses
and boarders. With all this, I truly consider myself extremely fortunate
to be at Singletree Farm for I feel I am part of a barn family!

Part of the Singletree Family gathered to watch Nell and Reverie
get a ribbon at Championships, 2007.
It is a tremendous advantage to have two high calibre trainers at
Singletree. When a student or her (his) horse hits a tough spot, Karen
and Nell compare ideas. They back each other up when one has to be away.
They work as a super team. It is a both instructive and pleasurable to
watch either one of them ride, and they are always willing to answer
questions and give advice, whether about riding or about horse care. I
feel very comfortable with either one of them caring for my two horses
when I'm away, and feel that they are incredibly skilled and experienced
in the myriad issues that go into horse ownership, care and training.
Those of us who board at Singletree are very fortunate.

I've had the opportunity to work with both Karen & Nell over the years,
starting with Karen 12 years ago. My riding skills have improved while
working with each; they bring different yet similar perspectives to their
teaching styles. And, they really care for the horses well being. In
addition, outside lessons, they are around to offer advice and training
tips along the way.
